What should I bring?
Bring items that would make you feel comfortable at an outdoor concert - a blanket, lawn chairs, even a picnic!
If you prefer not to bring food, Midtown Crossing has multiple restaurants from which to choose.

When should I arrive?
The Park and Kids Zone opens at 5:30 p.m., so you can start to claim your spot on the lawn. Kids Zone will include arts and crafts, balloon animals, costume station and more! The opera concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Where should I park?
Midtown Crossing has two public parking garages accessible from 33rd, Farnam and Harney Streets in midtown Omaha. In both garages, the first three hours are free with retail validation, and visitors pay only $1 for each hour thereafter (with a maximum fee of $10 per 24 hour period). Short-term (max. 2 hours) metered parking is available on Farnam Street and within Turner Park, accessible from 31st Avenue. Metered parking is monitored Monday thru Saturday from 9 am - 9 pm. Or if you are traveling via bike, there are numerous bike racks located throughout Midtown Crossing and are available for guests. Please bring your own chain and lock to secure your bike.

What can I expect?
Expect beautiful renditions of opera's greatest hits under the stars! The opera concert will be approximately two hours, so you may want to bring a flashlight to assist as you’re leaving.

In what language will Opera Outdoors be presented?
The concert will be hosted bilingually in English and Spanish and the hosts will provide introductions and context for the songs. Concert selections will be sung in various languages with translations available online.

Is there lighting or sound elements I should be aware of?
There will be theatrical lighting elements for this performance, those will become more visible after approximately 8pm as the sun sets. By the end of the concert around 9:15pm the park is fully dark, but there will be lights to help audience members find their way to exit. The concert will include amplified elements.

Is this concert an inclusive performance?

Can I bring alcohol?
Yes. While alcohol is not sold in the park at Opera Outdoors, audience members (of legal drinking age) are permitted to bring wine or beer to the event.

What if it rains?
We wouldn’t let weather get in the way of being able to share opera with the community. If the concert is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will post this on our social media channels. The rain date for Opera Outdoors is the following evening, Saturday, September 7. Same time and place.
