
Opera Omaha 25/26 Season Chorus Auditions
Opera Omaha will be holding auditions for the 2025-26 season chorus roster on April 24 and 26, 2025. We are seeking talented local singers to join the roster. Singers with previous experience in the Opera Omaha chorus are welcome to re-audition, unless they have already auditioned in 2024.

Audition requirements:
• Prepare two pieces (each no longer than 5 minutes) to perform from memory. Please ensure that at least one of your pieces is in English. Due to time limitations, we may only hear one piece.
• A pianist will be provided. Please bring a copy of your music for the pianist.
• You may provide a headshot and resume if desired.

About Opera Omaha Chorus Roster
The Opera Omaha Chorus is an ensemble of local singers living across Nebraska and Iowa who provide the choral forces for Opera Omaha’s productions. The chorus is led by Opera Omaha’s Head of Music, Josh Quinn.
Chorus members are compensated as follows:
• $20 per hour for rehearsals
• $100 per performance (Solo bit roles will receive a higher performance fee)
• A $150 fuel stipend per production is provided to each singer traveling more than 40 miles one way to Opera Omaha.
Rehearsals typically take place on weekends and weekday evenings during the month-long production period.
Each season’s roster consists of singers who perform in at least one production per season.

Expectations for chorus roster
• Music should be memorized before the first music rehearsal.
• We strongly discourage any absence, and any request for release is subject to approval on a case-by-case basis. Releases will not be approved for the period from Final Room Run through the final performance of each production. Given the short rehearsal period for Opera Outdoors, no releases can be granted.
