Twelve Days of Carmen-Day Five
A few words from Conductor, Hal France:
We got our first glimpse at Act Two and Act Four onstage last night. Last year, Opera Omaha purchased designer Paul Shortt’s Carmen sets from the New York City Opera. This is a large scale look that maximizes the Orpheum stage and offers some vistas that I haven’t seen up there before. The chorus sound bounces off the walls with so much power that this conductor is giddy with hope. It will be fun to see Kyle Lang’s dance choreography and Robert Ruffin’s fight choreography fill the stage.
Today’s video features a few more glimpses at the opera’s musical strengths. Enjoy.
