Fred Simon was a cornerstone of Opera Omaha. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1978-1979 and for ten years as a Chairman of the Opera Omaha Foundation. His passion for opera was remarkable, as evidenced by a private database he maintained that documented opera performances that he attended. Included in this database are the operas that he heard, the company and city where they took place, as well as the conductors directors, and singers that performed.
