Orpheum Theater
The celebrated Orpheum Theater has served as the home of the finest in local and national performing arts in Omaha for nearly a century. A cornerstone of the city’s cultural history, this former vaudeville house was constructed in 1927. Recent renovations have restored its ornate splendor and enhanced acoustics.

Entry Inspection
All guests entering the theater or concert hall for an event are subject to a metal detector screening, visual inspection, and a bag inspection conducted by Omaha Performing Arts security staff.

Ways to prepare
Before the performance, you may enjoy reading the synopsis on our website or in your program book. You can also attend the Prelude Talk, a mini-lecture 50 minutes prior to every show that offers context and insights to help prepare you to enter the world of the opera.
What to wear
Wear what helps you enjoy the experience. Some guests dress for a special night out, while others come more casually. You will see a range of styles, from jeans to formal wear, and all are welcome.
When to arrive
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before curtain so you have time to park, find your seat, and settle in. If you arrive late or need to step out, lobby monitors may be available until the next seating opportunity.
Understanding the Languages of Opera
Performances will have English supertitles projected above the stage so you can follow along. You do not need to know the language in advance. English supertitles are projected above the stage so you can follow the story as it unfolds.
