Now in its 10th year, the Poetry & Music Project connects student poets and their words with composers to create original music and explore the connections between poetry and music.
Produced in partnership with the Nebraska Writers Collective, the statewide program amplifies the voices of K–12 students across Nebraska and Iowa.
Students in grades K–12 from Nebraska and Iowa are invited to write and submit original poems inspired by the annual theme. Selected poems are set to music by professional composers and premiered in a public concert in May 2027.
