Opera Omaha Offers Series of Free Shows

Opera Omaha is planning a series of free events across the metro area to celebrate National Opera Week.

About 200 opera companies in North America will mark the occasion, which actually spans 10 days. It began Friday and runs through Nov. 1.

» At noon today, Film Streams will show a recording of Opera Omaha’s Midtown Crossing concert from August. Favorites from the company’s fall production, “The Barber of Seville,” and other operas were featured on the program. Singers included Leah Partridge, Andrew Bidlack, Sandra Piques Eddy and John Moore. Reservations are recommended.
